Every 2 Minutes...

Every 2 minutes, a child is diagnosed with cancer. More children are lost to cancer in the U.S. than any other disease. Before they turn 20, about 1 in 263 children in the U.S will have cancer. In the 1950's almost all kids diagnosed with cancer died. Because of research, today about 90% of kids with the most common type of cancer will live. But for many other types, progress has been limited, and for some there is little hope for a cure.

Research is Hope.

St. Baldrick's knows that through research, cures and treatments can give kids a fighting chance at life. Your donations can make that possible. In 2022, St. Baldrick’s support has allowed 136,110 children to be treated via 232,379 separate trial enrollments. Each of those children has been given hope. Since 2005, St. Baldrick's volunteers reach new heights, making possible more than $338 million in research grant funding. Over $11 million of that has come from Las Vegas! Join us at McMullan's on the 9th and be a hero for kids with cancer.

Team Kyra

I'm a parent of child who passed away from a brain tumor at the age of two and a half. I am also a mom to two other children. Ross, now 32, born two years before Kyra and Branagh, now 26, born two years after Kyra passed.

There's many things about this journey no one can prepare you for. The net of the aftermath is wide and it delves into the substance of everything.

Each of us step up to this cause for a reason. A parent who lost a child, a grandparent who endures the pain of watching their child go through losing a child, a sibling whose whole world will be forever changed. An aunt, a cousin, an uncle, a friend. Our compassion and our inherent will to make it right again, to help another child, to make a difference, to honor someone and keep their memory and their legacy alive. We all have a reason.

To the siblings who may have felt they lived in the shadow of their parents loss. To the incredible people who hold us up when we think we can't. To the young kids who step up to shave their heads for other kids. To everyone in this community who steps up to raise funds for life saving research. All I can say is, thank you. A thousand thank you's.

St. Baldrick's FAQ's

What am I getting myself in for?

Pure joy, to be honest. There is no happier day of the year. Great people doing great things for those they love and the community around them. Check out this video from 2023 to get a feel for what goes on! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uSyrpMJVTZI

What is the League of Legendary Heroes?

Once you volunteer for St. Baldrick's, you are given a rank. The ranks are as follows: Hero for Kids with Cancer: 1-2 years of service Squire of Hope: 3 years of service Knight of the Bald Table: 7 years of service Knight Commander: 10 years of service Crusader for a Cure: 15 years of service Baron of the Brave: 20 years of service In 2022, over 6,700 League members with the rank of Squire and above raised over $8 million to fund the best childhood cancer research.

Do I have to shave my head?

Absolutely not!

Where does my donation go?

100% of all money raised go directly to research.

How can I get involved?

There are multiple different ways that you can get involved with St. Baldrick's. Shave Your Head: The most obvious is to sign up to be a Shavee! St. Baldrick's head-shaving events are where it all began. Over six hundred million shaved heads later, they’re still our most popular fundraiser. Kids with cancer often lose their hair during treatment. As a "shavee," you’ll shave your head to show your support — and in the process, inspire friends and family to donate to childhood cancer research. Create Your Own Fundraiser: Our “Do What You Want” fundraisers are the perfect way to raise money your way for childhood cancer research. Run a 5K, donate your birthday, host an all-night video game battle — this is a fundraiser that’s all you. You’ll have your own online page to collect donations, and can hold your fundraiser whenever, wherever you want. Plus it’s super easy to get started.
